About Us

Dursley & District Community Association was founded in 1974 by a local group with the aim to promote the well-being of the broad community based in and around Dursley, to further cultural, social and physical welfare, and to foster a spirit of mutual service and friendship.
An independent registered charity, whose trustees are Dursley Town Council, it is non-party political, non-sectarian and non-discriminatory on any social grounds.
Today about 35 groups use the Centre on a regular basis. Theses cover a wide range of leisure, recreational, educational, health and sporting enterprises embracing all age groups.
Built over two floors, the Community Centre consists of 2 large halls, a fully fitted kitchen and a smaller meeting room, the hiring of which forms the Associations principal income. There is also the Dursley & District Community Association Social Club, a limited company registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act, which is restricted to members of the Association and their guests.

The number of people using the Community Centre’s facilities over a year is estimated at between 70,000 and 75,000
